Singer and Cantor
Soprano Mimi Sheffer, Cantor and singer, was born in the United States and raised in Israel.
Currently, she lives in Berlin, where she concentrates on building bridges between cultures and religions.
In her concerts and projects, she confronts European classical music with synagogue music, as well
as Jewish music with its Christian and Muslim parallels. With her dramatic and agile voice she reaches
all audiences and attempts to fight ignorance and anti-Semitism. She dedicates herself to the revival of synagogue music in Europe and has recently released a CD of this music.
She is active in many inter-religious projects, offers workshops for Cantors and prayer leaders and
is a staff member at the Rabbinical Seminary, Abraham-Geiger-Kolleg.

press comments:
Mimi's approach was more theatrical. She trained as an opera singer and has a superb dramatic voice.
